Paisley Printed Pants

I love the print and all the fun colors these pants have, and even though they’re not my usual style, I feel like they’re a great addition to my wardrobe. The only hiccup I have is that they’re a bit loose around the waist area. But for me that’s a quick, easy fix at the tailor.  I look forward to styling these beautiful pants in the month to come.

My loyal readers I’ve been selected by Redbook magazine as one the 25 finalists for their “Real Women Style Awards”.  Many beautiful and stylish women have been selected and I’d like to ask for your support by voting for me.   You can vote daily until May 12th by simply selecting the star on the right hand corner of my picture @dayamirabassa.

Thank you so much for your support.

Preppy Orange

I’ve definitely been crushing on the color orange lately.  In my previous post I paired it with black pants and today I’m giving it a new preppy look with a classic button down shirt and a pair of leopard print heels to give it a little jazz.

Lovelies, I need a small favor to ask from you all.  I’ve been selected by Redbook magazine as one the 25 finalists for their “Real Women Style Awards”.  Many beautiful and stylish women have been selected and I’d like to ask for your support by voting for me.  Voting starts today and ends on May 12th, please vote daily and thank you so much for your support.

Sassy Pants…

After season sales are definitely my favorite time to shop.  Most retail stores are getting rid of the previous season’s items and making room for the next.  And that my friends is how you get the best deals on items you’ve been eyeing but weren’t willing to pay full price for.
Since last year, I’ve wanted a pair of faux leather pants but couldn’t justify paying full or even sale price for them.  After stopping by one of my favorite JCPenney stores on the way home from work one night, I found these sassy faux leather trim pants in my size…and the best part is that they fit like a glove.  I was so excited to see all the great affordable selections the store had that I actually went back within a week to score some more great deals.

Spring Transition...

Even though spring has sprung, it’s still very chilly in the RVA. I’ve decided to transition from winter to spring by combining some of my favorite winter pieces with the latest color trends for spring.

Pink & Burgundy

I finally got this burgundy wool pencil skirt from JCrew factory that I’d been wanting for months as a Christmas gift.  Before actually having the skirt, I knew I wanted to pair it with pink and I already had outfits put together in my head.

A simple update...

About 2 years ago I went on a crazy hunt for a navy wool blazer and found this one at a Goodwill store. It was a bit big on me, but I figured since I only paid $7.00 for it, what’s a little extra charge to have it tailored.  Unfortunately, I let this little baby sit in back of my closet until I recently read a post from fellow blogger Tiffany from Style, Steal and Stilettos and how she updated a similar drifted navy blazer.

The simplest way of updating any blazer or jacket is by swapping out the buttons. I found this matching button set at Wal-Mart for only .97 cents.  Finally, to get that form fitting look I wanted I simply skipped the trip to the tailor and put the blazer in the dryer on the delicate cycle for about 20 minutes until it shrunk just enough for that perfect fit.

Black & Purple

Tuesday February 4th was World Cancer Day, a tribute to cancer survivors.  This cause is very close to my heart as one of my co-workers and friends is a recent cancer survivor.  In honor of her and all other cancer survivors, I wore these purple jeans and chose to pair them with a black blazer and polka dot top.
